Last year, while on a family Thanksgiving celebration in Banner Elk, Jon and Tom Waldrop, the owners of Electric Cart Company, LLC (ECC), in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida, began formulating plans for Off-Road Adventures. This father/son team have a 12-year background as a State-licensed dealer for for Club Car, GEM by Polaris, StarEV, Garia, Tomberlin, and Yamaha which most in the industry experts recognize as having the largest selection of “street legal” golf carts in the Southeastern US. However, it was their experience over the last decade in the resort vehicle rental business at the beach that propelled them to create a plan to rent fun, safe, off-road vehicles in the NC High Country. In addition to sales and service, ECC currently operates a rental fleet of 90+ rental carts on the beachfront roadways along the Florida Panhandle between Destin and Panama City Beach. After meeting with Will Adkins of the Waterfront Group, the developer of The Lodges at Eagles Nest, a vision was born. It begins on May 23rd.
